"Hello, I'm Binar Abiyasa, many people know me as Namoy Budaya. I'm an Entrepreneur, Music Selector & Content Creator, and I was born and raised in Bandar Lampung. Then in 2005, I moved to Bandung. Ever since then, I spent most of my time in Bandung, Jakarta, and Bali. Constantly moving and never settling because my hobby is traveling around and discovering new things to enjoy!”
According to Binar, he has three pillars in his work life: F&B, fashion, and music.
“All three pillars are still all very related and have their respective threads. For example, Namoy Budaya can play in my cafe which activates both pillars. I enjoyed all of them respectively!”
What's so exciting about being both musician and an entrepreneur?
“What I love the most is that I can meet my friends in the creative industry scene both in fashion or footwear brands or music. They often invite me to their brand launching as Namoy Budaya, which is amazing how we can support each other."
What are the essential skill sets to become a musician and also an entrepreneur?
"Entrepreneurs should be eager to learn about the business world! While for young musicians out there they should dig a lot of music from different genres, learn to produce music, design covers, and they have to imagine a lot to visualize their art."
What is a typical day like for you?
“When I’m working in Jakarta, I have to be in both creative and professional zone. During office hours I will be at my studio, then I'll be at my business office after hours. I just need to go to both places to balance everything out. Meanwhile, I enjoy many types of sports such as golf, baseball, and softball during my laid-back time.”
What’s the most rewarding aspect of starting your own business?
“Having a good team. Our team started as 15 and now it consists of 20 people. They have been with me through the pandemic until now so I’m very proud of them.”
How important is financial management to your work or business?
“Financial management is a need and it is really important, I think it is the core of business to survive and reach stability.”
Lastly, What is financial freedom to you?
"For me, financial freedom is when you can fulfill your desires, can provide for your needs, up until the point where the money can work on its own, not only from the main job but also from intellectual property or royalties."
